Abstract

The most unique and novel feature of the product is that it is based on an agent-based software model and an architecture, which provides the ability, to create and execute behaviors rather than executing macros or scripts. The product comes with out-of-the-box functionality that can be easily customized by the installer with little or no programming required. Similar to how the brain stores information the software provides behaviors that can be assigned a particular piece of hardware in order to perform the desired result. An example is a lighting behavior, which responds to a security in-alarm event to turn on all lights in the house and flash the outdoor lights is completely independent of the actual hardware that is installed to perform the task. As technology changes the lighting system and the security system can be completely replaced or upgraded without modifying the underlying behavior.
